How to Join our Post?

  • Be between the ages of 14 and 20 (14 years old, only if completed 8th grade)
  • Have parental permission if under age 18
  • Have good moral character
  • Remain in school maintaining a C average (70%) or higher
  • Be able to provide Post Advisor with no fewer than two written character
    recommendations from established members of the community such as Teachers,
    Employers, or Civic Leaders
  • No criminal convictions and pass background check
  • Be able to attend meetings on regular basis and successfully graduate from an
    Explorer Academy within two years
  • Be willing to volunteer your time at Explorer activities
  • Be willing to commit to post rules and exemplify the professional image of
    the Warren Police Department

If this sounds like something you want to do, we encourage you to complete the
application packet found on the left and bring it to our next meeting.  There is a
registration fee of $25 which includes an insurance policy required before
students can participate in hands on training and a program t-shirt.
(Additional T-shirts can be purchased for $5 each).
